Connect a Gmail or Google Workspace inbox
Connect your Gmail inbox read-only: it joins your morning summary and its requests become tasks.
Updated November 3, 2026
What you'll need
- An InboxBriefs account.
- Your Gmail or Google Workspace address and its Google password.
Connect the inbox
Step 1 of 6
- In the side menu, open Integrations.
- In the Email section, pick Gmail.
- Under Create a personal connection, click Connect.
- Under Connection type, keep Personal, then click Continue with Gmail.
- Google opens: pick your account and accept read-only access.
- Back in InboxBriefs, the inbox shows under Accounts, marked Read-only. Its first sync starts on its own.
With Google Workspace, your company's administrator can restrict outside apps. If Google refuses the connection, ask them to allow InboxBriefs.
What happens next
- InboxBriefs reads the inbox read-only: it can't send, delete or move an email.
- Your next morning summary includes this inbox. Not to wait, click Generate now on the dashboard.
- On a paid plan, a request you receive shows up in your tasks within 15 minutes.
- Your instructions and your automations apply to its emails too.
How many inboxes you can connect
During the trial you connect 1 inbox; the Pro plan allows 3. A team space holds up to 10 shared mailboxes. Once the limit is reached, the page says Your plan's limit is reached.
